2009 CFWF Awards FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to enter?
Both CFWF members and non-members are eligible. A CFWF member must have paid a
regional association due to be eligible to enter as a member. A CFWF member may
also submit and entry on behalf of a non-member (third-party entry).
What does it cost to enter?
$20 per entry for a CFWF member and third-party entries, $30 per entry for a
non-member.
How many times can I enter the same item?
You can enter the same item in as many categories as you like; however it can
only be entered once in the same category.
Can teams enter?
Yes, however all members of the team must be listed, to a maximum of three.
The individual members of the team cannot submit another item in the same category.
What if I enter my submission in an incorrect category?
The Head Judge may move your entry into the appropriate category (if possible).
If your entry is deemed inadmissible your entry fee will be returned to you.
Will I get my entry back?
Yes, in the weeks following the awards ceremony, entries and the judges marks and
comments will be mailed back to all CFWF members, and non-members that win awards.
Please be patient as this is a lengthy process.
When will I be presented my award if my entry wins?
The award is presented at the awards ceremony at the CFWF Annual Conference
(visit the website for details: www.cfwf.ca ). Wherever possible awards will be sent
back with someone from your regional federation who will then contact to you to
arrange delivery or pick up.
What will I get from the judges?
You will get a score sheet which includes a breakdown of your numerical score as
well as comments from the judge. Judges are asked to highlight strengths and
weaknesses and present specific aspects that could be improved.
How are winners recognized?
Winners are recognized at the Awards Ceremony that is held in conjunction with the
CFWF Annual Conference. A press release is also distributed announcing the winners
and is posted on the CFWF website (www.cfwf.ca). Winners receive a plaque and a cheque.
If I do not attend the awards ceremony, when will I find out
if I’ve won?
Shortly after the awards ceremony, the press release announcing the winners is sent
to all entrants.
