Room rate is $100/night (single); quote the Canadian Farm Writers' Federation conference when booking. Check in time is 3 p.m. and check out is noon.

Deadline for making room reservations is September 1, 2008. Rooms are not guaranteed at the CFWF conference rate after this time.

The Westerly Hotel is conveniently located in downtown Courtenay. It features complimentary high-speed wireless Internet, pool, hot tub, sauna and exercise room and a choice of three eateries. Pets are welcome.

Hospitality Suite

The CFWF 2008 Hospitality Suite will be located in the penthouse suite at the Old House Village Suites and Hotel. The Old House Village is located just a couple of minutes walk from the Westerly Hotel, and also presents another option for accommodations.

Travel Information: How to get here from there!

Situated on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, British Columbia, the Comox Valley stretches from Fanny Bay to Saratoga Beach is accessible by land, sea or air - choose your favourite mode of travel and let the journey become the start of your visit!

By Car: The Comox Valley is a 2.5 hour (220 km) drive north from Victoria or a 75-minute (107 km) drive from Nanaimo, where the ferry terminals of Departure Bay (to/from Horseshoe Bay) and Duke Point (to/from Tsawwassen) are located. Drive Highway #19, the new inland, four-lane expressway, or, if you have extra time, enjoy the scenic Oceanside Route on the old Island Highway #19A.

By Air: Direct flights to the Comox Valley Airport are available from Calgary and Edmonton via WestJet and from Vancouver via Pacific Coastal or Central Mountain Air.
